Many days of pictures and stories

I met with the International City Racing group and handed in the permit for the Long Beach Kite Expo. I think they liked the presentation because they said it was very complete.

Summer has officially started.

Robert and Danny are back at Belmont Shore. The are also the first to sign up for the SCKA's Long Beach Kite Expo. The dates are July 10 and 11. Please circle them.

Arnaud Vuillermet has officially opened his KiteMasters kite school on the East end of the La Verne parking lot. You can reach him at arnaud@kitemasters.com or check out his web site at http://www.kitemasters.com/

Klaus and I pumped and headed out for a mini adventure to the oil platform. Fun

Plenty of kiters showed up on a Tuesday. Everyone wanted a little fun.

We meet at Seal Beach for an adventure....NOT

Klaus and I arrived at Seal Beach to find no wind, one para-glider and two guys trying to learn.

They moved from the flat sand to the little mound, but still no wind.

The four guys that showed up for the kite adventure, Gabor, me, Klaus and Juliano got skunked. Oh well!!!

Dr. Kristin Helm graduates from U.S.C.

We arrived at USC at 9 A.M. looking for a place to sit....SORRY not here.

Zoomed in you could almost see the dais.

We finally found a place to sit. We were about a city block from the large video monitor which was two blocks away from the ceremony.

Her actual graduation was held in the Bovard Auditorium. The entrance is on the right.

I discovered my camera didn't like low light photography. I think this shot of Kristin is very arty.

Tommy Lasorda gave a very motivating speech.

Kristin gets her Doctorate sash. This will have to do for now until I check to see if Dan got a better shot.

On the left are Kristin's parents, Skip and Terri. Her sister is on the right Johna.

We got everyone around with Tommy Trojan in the background.

Dan and Kris were very happy today. Now she is preparing for the next step...a job.
