July 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ....more wind to come???
One day of wind out of five days is not a great percentage, 20%. But there are plenty of pictures.
Day one, Thursday, July 3rd.
Man, the morning was overcast and it didn't look good for kiting.
By the time we got to the beach there was no wind. Mitch, our new lifeguard was looking for anything to rescue. Did you say, "Someone is drownding?"
It was such a slow news day taking pictures of the guy riding with his dog seemed exciting.
Dan arrived hoping there was going to be wind....Sorry Dan, this is summer.
Just keep the beer coming, wrapped with the plastic sheath. Man are we cleaver.
At the end of the day Dan was wrapping up his lines because there was no wind. Sorry Dan..

Friday, July 4th. Our garden on the 4th had lots of support for our country. Wave those flags honey.
Ruth showing off her roses. They are over 6 feet tall.
Look how beautiful her roses are. Just like Ruth, they have so much character.
The wind had nothing exciting for us.
As you can see from the wind graph there was a little bit of wind for a little while but then it died. That's when I got there.
Some of the kiter's got some wind and then came in. The rest of us wished we had gotten there earlier. Boo hoo.
Mitch, our new lifeguard, performed a rescue today. He swam out and brought in a kayaker who had fallen overboard. It was wonderful seeing our tax dollars at work.
Naturally Mitch ran right back to the guard shack to keep the beach safe.
At one point a Boeing C-17 Globemaster flew by. This plane can carry tons of equipment. It's quite a site.
Here's the end of the day at the Claremont launch ramp. Everyone was waiting for the fireworks.
Ruth and I drove up to West Long Beach to see the fire works. What we didn't count on was the traffic. We got there about two minutes before the end of the "fun".
Thanks to Al Navas we had this picture taken at Naji's condo. Great place Naji.
It's now Saturday July 5th. We just want some wind.
As you can see from the wind graph the wind came up at about 1 o'clock. Klaus and I got there a little earlier hoping it was going to kick in and it did.
While we were waiting for the wind Luca was fitting Klaus with a head band because he had burnt his head the day before, sun bathing.
Our adventure started while talking to Mike Noel. We said "Set your sights on a goal and do it." Klaus and I headed for the pier (La Palapa) and once there we expanded our goal.
We went past the pier, into the bay behind White Island then went behind Chaffee Island. We went close to Chaffee Island and then to the platform. Then back behind Chaffee and into the bay again.
Once past Chaffee for the second time we passed White Island and then past the pier. Then we down winded back to Belmont beach. A nice little adventure.
Once back on the beach the wind died, but there were a few guys like John that could get out.
I was really happy to catch this jump of John's.
After kiting we went to Lenny's house for dinner. Mmmmmmm.
Forget the food, look at her view. Can I move in Lenny??????
It's now Sunday...no wind yet.......
As you can see there was not much going on on Sunday.
July 6th. A skunk unless you were about 150 pounds, flying a 14 and riding a surfboard.
A self portrait, or maybe not???
The most excitement thing was seeing a boat coming close to the "Swim Zone."

The end of the day blues, having to go home without kiting.....again.
