Dodgers beat Pirates 5 to 4
Dodgers beat Pirates 5 to 4 in the bottom of the 13 inning. GO DODGER BLUE!!!
Wednesday afternoon we got a surprise call from Dan to say he had 4 tickets to the Dodger game. The seats were near first base, at ground level, in the 14 row. We said "Sure we can go." We tried to hook up with two other fans to come with us but that didn't work out.
The wind was starting to come up at about 3 o'clock as Dan, Rijk, Klaus, Peter and many others started arriving. The wind was coming up but I didn't dare go out, Ruth never likes to be late to anything. Even a baseball game.

It actually took a while to get to our seats because an usher did not know her A** From A Hole In The Ground. Not to worry because we left two hours before the game. When we got to our seats you can see our view. Here is Manny Ramirez batting for the first time. There were 52,562 in the stands. When there was a hit the applause was thunderous.
Here we are in our seats. Naturally we had to have a Dodger dog, a beer and Cracker Jacks. In the 7th inning we did a repeat.
In the ninth inning the Dodgers tied it up and the game went into extra innings. No problem, we weren't going anywhere tomorrow. One more beer please!!
This was the batter just before Ethier's home run. You can see the stands clearing out.

Here is Andre Ethier crossing home plate.
Everyone was up and cheering for the Dodgers who pulled the rabbit out of the hat in the 13th inning.
The stadium was filled with Randy Newman's "I Love L.A." As we drove home we were thinking "Thanks you for a great game." But it was a nail bitter, right down to the last hit.
