April showers bring....CLEARING WINDS!!!!!

April 12, 2010

The morning started off with cleaning up the front yard after the rain last night. There was about a half in of rain from the storm that marched through last night. At about noon I let a few guys know that clearing winds might happen today...but who knew how good it was going to be???

Ruth took the Honda so I couldn't drive to Sunset as planned...but Belmont was fine. I arrived at the beach around 1 o'clock.

I didn't bring my video camera but Hank was pulling off some great loops as he was working with Rosemary.

Hank mentioned that the wind wasn't quite there yet.

It didn't seem to matter to Rosemary, she was back on the water again.

My neighbor Christopher was doing his thing back-winding his sail. Looking good.

Klaus wanted to go to Sunset too but came to Belmont just for the fun.

Klaus on his 15m F-one got him way up in the air. He had a ball and wouldn't quit until the very end.

Rijk, Klaus's co-worker, got on the water a little late. He had to visit his dentist...Dr. Al Navas. His teeth looked super clean today.

Drew was out on his Naish trying some un-hooked tricks. The frame after this he was in the water.

"Daddy" Kyle got to the beach just in time....

to pull off his off-the-lip tricks. Doesn't he make it look easy????

One of the exciting things that happened today was the kiter that purchased the first Wainman since I became the local "demo guy" for Kite Naked came to Belmont to kite. Jeff was here riding his Big Mama and doing a great job. We hope to see him here more often too. Don't those two Wainmans look great together, The Boss and Big Mama. They are going to change the world.

There was plenty of wind and it lasted quite a while....

too bad that the L.A. River dumps onto the shores of Long Beach because after a rain this is what we see and kite in.....JUNK

At the end of the day, as we wrapped up our gear, Kyle went out for one more ride and he got the "Rescue Award" for the day.

We noticed that Steve Lee's kite was down in the water and Kyle went out and helped him into shore. That is a real beach buddy. We all hope you will do the same thing if someone is in trouble out in the water.
